As 2021 reaches its half-way point, I think we are all very painfully aware of the direct impact that COVID19 has left and continues to leave on both our personal and work lives. At Screenwave, in particular, we really miss meeting fans during conventions and other public events. Luckily, Too Many Games‘ Game Swap last month was a HUGE success and not only were we able to showcase some of our newest game demos to eager and restless con-goers but also made some new friends! 🙂Â
Personally, I am not one to stray away from conventions. Having the chance to engage in conversation with others who share similar interests and experiences is always a fun time and a good reminder that I am not alone in my taste. Granted, the Internet exists for this very reason, but nothing beats the smells (some are good!) and scenes (some are bad!) that an in-person event contains. As such, we are looking forward to attending Otakon 2021 on August 6-8th. Come say “hi” to our Games team in the Gaming Hall and try out demos to several of our upcoming releases.
Recently, on the conversation of conventions, we also entered a GAME JAM on itch.io hosted by YoYo Games with the extremely vibrant theme of neon! In just under 2 weeks, our team developed a fully-functional, aesthetically pleasing title, aptly named N.E.O.N.: Never-Ending Onslaught of Nerds. In this addictive arcade-style romp, you play as a cosplayer, posing for photos with adoring fans; but watch out! If one of these “nerds” touches you, things will get AWKWARD. I just want to express how much we learned from the experience and how many incredibly talented designers/developers we discovered! Congratulations to the team behind Lam’s Untitled Neon, which placed 1st in the Jam! Click here to see the results and be sure to try some entries yourself!
So, since it’s been awhile, grab your favorite retro system (I’ll be bringing my N64) and gather around the fire… LET’S CHAT.

With the overwhelmingly positive feedback on both Angry Video Game Nerd Adventures and Angry Video Game Nerd II: Assimilation, we decided to bring fans the ultimate experience; two revamped and remastered platformers that will bring out your inner Nerd rage. Available for digital purchase, AVGN I&II Deluxe features an all-new final chapter, new characters, an updated game engine, and faster respawning. Be sure to check out the game’s page on Indie DB here to look at some “shi**y screenshots” and check out this “bull****” trailer:

We teamed up with Pixelnicks once more, addressing much of the feedback from fans on the original Eagle Island! A year and a half later, Eagle Island Twist was born! Featuring over 45 hand-crafted stages of single-player, pick-up-and-play action, players can expect to battle fauna and flora, master retro-style platforming, and defeat 12 huge bosses, all in crisp, pixelated detail. Eagle Island Twist is a massive DLC expansion for Eagle Island, and, as a result, both games are included in the digital purchase (not to mention, if you already own Eagle Island, you will get Eagle Island Twist for free).
